Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, and Billy Wagner Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame

Ichiro Suzuki has been elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, becoming the first Japanese and Asian-born player to receive this honor. Ichiro, who amassed 3,089 MLB hits during his career with the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees, was elected alongside pitchers CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner. Sabathia, a 251-game winner, and Wagner, who ranks eighth on the all-time saves list, will join Ichiro in the induction ceremony to be held in Cooperstown this July. Ichiro received 99.7% of the vote from the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA), falling just one vote short of a unanimous selection.
