VisitICC Seeks Arrest of Myanmar's Min Aung Hlaing Over 2017 Rohingya Atrocities

On November 27, the International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan announced that he is seeking an arrest warrant before Pre-Trial Chamber I for Myanmar's military leader, Senior General and Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, in relation to alleged crimes against humanity committed during the 2017 military operations against the Rohingya Muslim minority. The charges include deportation and persecution of the Rohingya people, perpetrated in Myanmar and partly in Bangladesh. The announcement comes after Khan's visit to Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh.
