Nov 26, 2024, 01:31 PM
Huawei has launched its Mate 70 smartphone series on November 26, marking a significant milestone as the devices run on HarmonyOS Next, the company's self-developed operating system built independent of Android architecture. Described as the 'most powerful' Mate phones in history, the Mate 70 series includes the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS Ultimate models. The phones feature advanced AI capabilities, a satellite paging system, and high-end hardware specifications such as a 5700mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 80W wireless charging. The devices are constructed with a high-gloss titanium basalt body and utilize second-generation Kunlun glass for enhanced durability. Richard Yu, Huawei's CEO, announced that from next year, all new smartphones and tablets will be equipped with HarmonyOS Next, as the company aims for 100,000 apps on the platform. Pre-order reservations for the Mate 70 series have reached 3.34 million as of November 18, and the phones are priced starting at ¥5,499 ($760).
