VisitHuawei Distributes New Ascend 910C AI Chip to Chinese Tech Giants, ByteDance Plans New AI Model
Sep 30, 2024, 05:30 AM
Huawei has initiated the distribution of its new Ascend 910C AI chip to major Chinese tech companies such as Baidu and ByteDance for testing. The Ascend 910C is claimed to rival Nvidia's H100 GPUs, which are considered the current benchmark for AI processing power. This development signifies a significant step for Huawei as it seeks to fill the gap left by Nvidia in the Chinese market. ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, plans to develop a new AI model trained primarily with Huawei's chips, as US restrictions push Chinese firms to seek domestic alternatives. ByteDance is reportedly one of Huawei's biggest AI chip customers and also a major buyer of Nvidia's H20 AI chip tailored for the Chinese market. Additionally, ByteDance plans to use Huawei's Ascend 910B chips for its new AI model.
