HTS Ready to Cooperate on Chemical Weapons Monitoring Amid Aleppo Concerns

Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a Syrian rebel group, has issued a statement declaring its full readiness to cooperate with the international community in monitoring weapons and sensitive sites in Syria. This statement comes in response to concerns that chemical weapons might have been seized south of Aleppo. HTS emphasized that it has no intention or desire to use chemical weapons or any weapons of mass destruction under any circumstances, even if it takes control of such Syrian regime sites. The group also noted the Syrian regime's history of using chemical weapons during the civil war, describing such use as a crime against humanity.
