The Houston Rockets and center Alperen Şengün have agreed to a five-year, $185 million rookie contract extension. The deal, confirmed by Şengün's agents Sean Kennedy and Jeff Schwartz of Excel Basketball, includes a player option in the final year. This extension makes Şengün the first player to sign a five-year rookie extension with a player option since Luka Doncic and Trae Young. The agreement was reached just minutes before the 6 p.m. deadline for rookie-scale extensions. This extension puts Şengün at $200.5 million in NBA earnings, placing him ahead of Dwyane Wade in the all-time ranking.
