VisitHouston Mosque Linked to New Orleans Terrorist Shamsud-Din Jabbar Urges Members Not to Cooperate With FBI, Directs to CAIR
Jan 2, 2025, 06:19 AM
Following a terrorist attack in New Orleans that resulted in 15 deaths and 35 injuries, a mosque in Houston, reportedly attended by the perpetrator Shamsud-Din Jabbar, has instructed its members not to cooperate with the FBI. The mosque, Masjid Bilal, advised its congregation to refer any inquiries from law enforcement or the media to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH). This directive has raised concerns due to CAIR's past associations with groups like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. The attack, classified by the FBI as an act of terror, involved Jabbar, a U.S. Army veteran who had converted to Islam, using a truck to ram into a crowd on Bourbon Street before engaging in a shootout with police, where he was killed. An ISIS flag was found in the truck used in the attack. The mosque emphasized the safety of their community and condemned the 'terrible acts' but did not offer condolences to the victims' families.
