VisitHouse Speaker Johnson Calls for Supreme Court to Overturn Trump's 34 Counts Guilty Verdict, Announces Investigation
Jun 2, 2024, 03:46 PM
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has called for the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict on all 34 counts in his business records falsification trial in New York. Johnson announced on Fox News that House Republicans are investigating Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Special Counsel Jack Smith for allegedly using the court system to target political opponents. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan expects Bragg to testify on Capitol Hill next month. Johnson emphasized on Friday that House Republicans would 'drag' Bragg to a hearing to determine if Trump's guilty verdict was politically motivated.
