Aug 12, 2024, 09:29 PM
ActBlue, a Democratic fundraising platform, is under investigation by House Republicans for allegedly violating campaign finance laws. The platform is accused of allowing contributions through gift cards and prepaid credit cards, raising concerns over potential money laundering activities. A video has surfaced showing a Texas woman unknowingly having 5,000 donations totaling approximately $136,000 made in her name. Another Texas resident, Janice Bosco, discovered 648 unauthorized donations amounting to around $16,000. ActBlue has responded by tightening its donation security requirements amid these investigations.
