VisitHouse Ethics Committee Issues 25 Subpoenas in Matt Gaetz Investigation
Jun 18, 2024, 02:10 PM
The House Ethics Committee has confirmed that it is continuing its investigation into Representative Matt Gaetz. The probe, which began on April 9, 2021, is examining allegations that Gaetz may have engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, accepted improper gifts, dispensed special privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had personal relationships, and sought to obstruct government investigations. Gaetz has denied the allegations, calling the investigations 'frivolous.' The Committee has faced difficulties in obtaining relevant information from Gaetz and has issued 25 subpoenas as part of the investigation. The Committee also noted that it is no longer investigating Gaetz for bribery.
