VisitHorseshoe Fire Near Lone Pine Grows to 3,000 Acres, 0% Contained, Evacuations Ordered

A new brush fire, named the Horseshoe Fire, has started southwest of Lone Pine, California. The fire, which began last night, has grown to over 3,000 acres and is being fueled by strong southwest winds with gusts of 35-45 mph. A unified command has been established between CAL FIRE, the U.S. Forest Service, the Inyo National Forest, and the Lone Pine Fire Department. Evacuation orders have been issued for Zone ICU-223-A. The fire is currently 0% contained.
