Aug 3, 2024, 07:00 PM
The Pacific Dining Car restaurant building, a historic monument in Los Angeles, was heavily damaged in a Greater Alarm Structure Fire. The century-old building, which had become an Old Hollywood favorite, went up in flames on the outskirts of downtown Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that 75 firefighters responded to the blaze at 1310 W 6th St, which took 59 minutes to extinguish. The fire was confined to the vacant restaurant and caused significant damage. No injuries were reported. The building was officially recognized as a historic cultural monument last year. LAFD spokesperson Brian Humphrey noted that many people have expressed their heartbreak over the incident.
