VisitHiroyuki Sanada Becomes First Japanese Male Actor to Win Best Actor Golden Globe for 'Shōgun'

Hiroyuki Sanada attended the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, where he won Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Lord Yoshii Toranaga in 'Shōgun'. This is his first Golden Globe win, adding to his earlier Emmy Award for the same role. Sanada is the first Japanese male actor to win this award in a television category at the Golden Globes. In his acceptance speech, he said, 'I want to say to all the young actors and actresses in the world: believe in yourself and never give up.'
