The High Court has upheld the Competition Authority of Kenya's decision that found Carrefour Supermarket guilty of abusing its superior bargaining power. The court ordered Carrefour to pay Orchards Ltd Sh289,482 in rebates and to amend its supplier contracts. This decision follows a finding by the Competition Authority in February 2020. Majid Al Futtaim Hypermarkets, the owners of Carrefour, issued a statement acknowledging the ruling and expressing their commitment to upholding the validity of their existing supplier agreements.
