VisitHezbollah Launches 60 Rockets on Northern Israel, Iron Dome Intercepts 15
Aug 1, 2024, 07:22 PM
Hezbollah launched a significant rocket barrage towards northern Israel from southern Lebanon, marking the first attack in over 48 hours. The rockets targeted the Western Galilee, with numerous sirens sounding in the area. Israeli air defenses, including the Iron Dome, intercepted many of the rockets. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating it was in retaliation for an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon that resulted in the death of its military chief and civilian casualties in the village of Chamaa. Reports indicate that around 60 rockets were fired, with 15 intercepted. Explosions were reported in Haifa, Kiryat Shmona, and Kibbutz Matzuva. In response, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) struck a Hezbollah rocket launcher in southern Lebanon.
