VisitHezbollah Launches 50 Grad Rockets at Kiryat Shmona; IDF and Iron Dome Respond
Jul 15, 2024, 08:54 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Hezbollah launched a significant rocket barrage targeting the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona. The attack, which included up to 50 Grad rockets, was in response to an Israeli airstrike on a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon, where three siblings were killed. Hezbollah claimed to have launched dozens of rockets, including a new type. The Iron Dome defense system intercepted many of the rockets, preventing major damage and injuries. The IDF confirmed that 20 rockets were launched in two barrages, with several interceptions. Explosions were heard in Kiryat Shmona, likely from interceptions. Civilians in Kiryat Shmona have been advised to stay near bomb shelters due to the ongoing threat.
