VisitHezbollah Fires 40 Rockets at Golan Heights, Two Killed and Critical Injuries Reported
Jul 9, 2024, 04:22 PM
Hezbollah has launched a significant rocket barrage towards northern Israel, targeting the Golan Heights and resulting in critical injuries. Approximately 40 rockets were fired, with one rocket directly hitting a civilian car near the Nafah Junction, critically wounding two individuals. This attack follows a series of escalations including Israeli drone strikes in southern Lebanon and near the Syria-Lebanon border, targeting vehicles reportedly associated with Hezbollah. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) intercepted the majority of the rockets, and air defenses were activated. Earlier, rockets were also fired at the Galilee Panhandle and Misgav Am. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks, stating they were in retaliation for the killing of one of their fighters, Yasser Qarnabash, by the IDF. Two people were killed in a separate Israeli strike, and a Syrian driver was seriously wounded. The situation remains tense with further military responses anticipated.
