Helsing, a Germany-based defense technology firm, has unveiled its new HX-2 drone, an AI-enabled autonomous system. Known for developing AI software for drones and jet fighters, Helsing is now venturing into arms manufacturing. The HX-2, also referred to as the mini-Taurus, is resistant to electronic warfare and GPS-jamming, featuring advanced swarm coordination technology and the ability to target armored vehicles, artillery, and other military assets. Weighing 12 kg and capable of speeds up to 220 km/h, the HX-2 is designed for high precision and efficiency. The company has secured a contract to deliver 4,000 of these drones to Ukraine, demonstrating its capability to industrialize AI for defense purposes. The HX-2 was recently declassified, marking a significant milestone in Helsing's expansion into weaponry.
