Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt Sue Los Angeles and LADWP Over Palisades Fire Damage Due to Santa Ynez Reservoir Failure

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, known for their reality TV appearances on 'The Hills,' have filed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) following the destruction of their home in the Palisades wildfire. The couple, along with more than 20 other affected property owners and residents, allege that the city's water system failed due to the Santa Ynez Reservoir being offline for repairs since February 2024, which led to insufficient water pressure and empty fire hydrants during the fire. The lawsuit claims that this failure was a significant factor in the damage caused by the fire, which has been one of the most destructive in California's history, killing 28 people and destroying over 12,000 structures. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for the costs of repair and other damages under the principle of inverse condemnation.
