Oct 4, 2024, 12:35 PM
Heavy floods and landslides caused by a severe rainstorm have struck Bosnia and Herzegovina, resulting in significant damage and casualties. At least 14 people have been killed, and several others are missing as torrential rain and landslides destroyed homes, roads, and bridges across central and southern parts of the country. The municipality of Jablanica, southwest of Sarajevo, has been particularly hard hit, with reports of it being completely cut off. Troops have been deployed to assist in rescue efforts. Neighboring countries Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia have issued flood warnings. Local elections scheduled for Sunday may be postponed due to the disaster. There are reports of 15 dead.
