VisitHarvey Weinstein Pleads Not Guilty to One Count of First-Degree Sex Crime in New York
Sep 18, 2024, 08:23 PM
Harvey Weinstein appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to a new indictment charging him with one count of a criminal sex act in the first degree. The new charge stems from an alleged assault in a lower Manhattan hotel between April and May 2006. This arraignment comes nearly five months after Weinstein's previous sex crimes conviction in New York was overturned. Weinstein's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, stated that they have 'absolutely no idea' who the accuser is. A grand jury indicted Weinstein earlier this month. Weinstein is awaiting a retrial in his landmark #MeToo case scheduled for November.
