VisitHarvey Weinstein Pleads Not Guilty to New First-Degree Sex Crime Charge in New York, Awaits Retrial
Sep 18, 2024, 08:18 PM
Harvey Weinstein appeared in a New York courtroom on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to a new indictment charging him with a criminal sex act in the first degree. The charge stems from an alleged assault in a lower Manhattan hotel between April and May 2006. This arraignment comes nearly five months after Weinstein's previous sex crimes conviction was overturned. Weinstein, who has denied all claims of sexual misconduct, is awaiting a retrial in his landmark #MeToo case, scheduled to begin in November. The indictment was handed down by a grand jury earlier this month. Arthur Aidala, Weinstein’s lawyer, stated outside court that they have 'absolutely no idea' who the accuser is.
