VisitHarvey Weinstein Pleads Not Guilty to First Degree Sex Crime Charge Ahead of November Retrial
Sep 18, 2024, 08:24 PM
Harvey Weinstein appeared in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to a new indictment charging him with a criminal sex act in the first degree. The charge stems from an alleged assault in a lower Manhattan hotel between April and May 2006. This new charge comes nearly five months after Weinstein's previous sex crimes conviction in New York was overturned. Weinstein was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month. Weinstein's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, stated they have 'absolutely no idea' who the accuser is. Weinstein, who denied all claims of sexual misconduct, is awaiting a retrial in his landmark #MeToo case, scheduled for November.
