Hamas has informed Israel that at least eight of the 33 hostages scheduled for release in the first phase of a ceasefire deal are dead. The announcement was made by Israeli government spokesman David Mencer, who confirmed that the families of the deceased hostages have been notified. This revelation comes as part of the ongoing truce agreement between Israel and Hamas, which has seen the release of seven hostages so far. The ceasefire deal stipulates the release of 33 hostages in its initial phase, with 25 still believed to be alive according to Israeli intelligence. Out of the remaining 26 hostages, only 18 are still alive.
