VisitHackers Shut Down Heating in Lviv, Affecting 600 Buildings with Novel Malware

Hackers have shut down heating in the Ukrainian city of Lviv using a novel malware called FrostyGoop. The cyberattack targeted critical infrastructure and disrupted water-heating services to over 600 apartment buildings at the coldest point in the year. Researchers from cybersecurity firm Dragos and Ukrainian authorities have identified the malware as ICS-focused, capable of manipulating Industrial Control Systems. The code is the first of its kind.
