VisitHaason Reddick Ends Holdout, Agrees to Incentive-Laden Deal with Jets to Recoup $12M Fines
Oct 20, 2024, 12:54 PM
Edge rusher Haason Reddick has ended his holdout and agreed to an adjusted contract with the New York Jets. Reddick will report to the team on Monday, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. The Jets cannot waive the over $12 million in fines that Reddick accumulated during his holdout due to NFL rules, but the adjusted deal includes incentives tied to sacks, playtime, honors, and team performance that will allow him to recoup the fines through performance-based bonuses. The team will continue to work toward a long-term extension with Reddick, who is 30 years old and recorded 11 sacks last season. Reddick is the first player in a decade to hold out past Week One of the regular season and then receive an adjusted contract. The Jets had previously thought they had made progress on three separate occasions, but Reddick did not report.
