Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles hit his 28th home run of the season, a two-run shot off Carlos Rodón, to give the Orioles a 2-1 lead over the New York Yankees. This home run, which traveled 414 feet at 105.6 MPH off an 87.8 MPH slider, marks Henderson's 28th of the year and puts the Orioles ahead in the third inning. The Orioles have their first lead since last Sunday at Oakland. Henderson's performance comes just before the MLB Home Run Derby, where he is set to compete under the new format and rules. The Home Run Derby, featuring a new format and a field of seasoned contestants and young superstars, is scheduled for tonight at 8:00 PM ET at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
