VisitGoogle Unveils Trillium AI Chip TPU v6 at Google I/O with 4.7x Performance Boost

Google has announced its latest generation of Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), named Trillium, during the Google I/O event. Trillium, also known as TPU v6, delivers a 4.7x improvement in compute performance per chip over the previous generation, TPU v5e. The new AI chip is expected to be available to cloud customers by late 2024. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, highlighted the significant advancements Trillium brings to AI data center performance, claiming a fivefold improvement.
