VisitGoogle to Flag AI-Generated Images in Search Results Later This Year
Sep 17, 2024, 04:52 PM
Google has announced plans to introduce a new technology that will help users identify whether images found in Google Search, Google Lens, and Circle to Search are real, edited by software like Photoshop, or AI-generated. The technology will flag AI-generated images that contain C2PA metadata and provide this information in the 'about this image' box. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and help users discern the authenticity of images they encounter online. The rollout of these changes is expected to occur within a few months, later this year. The announcement was reported by Kyle Wiggers.
