Google has announced the integration of its full Gemini AI experience into Google Workspace for business users, which includes tools like Gmail, Docs, and Meet. This move eliminates the need for a separate add-on, previously priced at $20 or $30 per user per month, and is accompanied by a price increase for Workspace plans. The new pricing model sees the Workspace Business Standard plan, which previously cost $32 per user per month with the Gemini add-on, now priced at $14 per user per month, a $2 increase over the base Workspace price without Gemini. The rollout of these features and the new pricing will begin immediately for new customers, with existing customers seeing the changes starting March 17, 2025, or at their renewal date. This strategic shift aims to make AI a foundational element of productivity tools, reflecting Google's view on the future of work.
