VisitGoodyear Invests C$575 Million in Ontario Plant Expansion for EV Tires, Creating 1,000 Jobs

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has announced a significant investment of C$575 million to expand its tire manufacturing plant in Napanee, Ontario. The expansion project, which includes the production of electric vehicle (EV) tires, is expected to create 200 new manufacturing jobs and reduce carbon emissions. The Canadian federal government is contributing up to C$44.3 million, while the Ontario provincial government is providing C$20 million in subsidies to support this initiative. The investment was officially unveiled with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ontario Premier Doug Ford in attendance, highlighting the strategic importance of this development in boosting Canada's EV sector. The plant aims to become net-zero in less than two decades, and the investment will create and secure more than 1,000 jobs.
