VisitGiants Sign Willy Adames to Seven-Year, $182M Deal Under President Buster Posey
Dec 7, 2024, 10:30 PM
Shortstop Willy Adames has agreed to a seven-year, $182 million contract with the San Francisco Giants, pending a physical. The deal represents the largest contract in Giants history, surpassing President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey's previous record of $167 million. Adames, 29, is coming off a career-best season with the Milwaukee Brewers in which he hit 32 home runs and recorded 112 RBIs in 2024. The All-Star caliber shortstop brings a powerful bat and strong defensive skills to a Giants lineup that ranked 19th in weighted runs created plus (wRC+) last year. The addition addresses a significant need for San Francisco and marks a major step in making the team more competitive under Posey's leadership. The contract reportedly includes a $22 million signing bonus.
