Germany to Supply 12 Panzerhaubitze 2000 Howitzers, 77 Leopard Tanks, and $250M Aid to Ukraine Amid Massive Russian Air Attacks

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that Germany will supply an additional 12 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, with six units to be delivered in 2024 and another six in 2025. This decision was made during the Ramstein group meeting at Ramstein Base, where Pistorius also highlighted that Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands will jointly provide Ukraine with 77 Leopard 1A5 tanks. The meeting, attended by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, addressed the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, described as some of the most massive air attacks since the start of the war. Additionally, the United States will provide a new $250 million military aid package to Ukraine, and Canada will supply a large batch of engines for unguided rockets.
