Germany has summoned the Chinese ambassador over a cyberattack on its federal cartography agency that occurred in late 2021. The German Interior Ministry has attributed the attack to Chinese state actors, describing it as a serious breach aimed at espionage. The German government has called on China to refrain from and prevent such cyberattacks in the future. This action follows a three-year investigation by German security services, which concluded that Chinese state actors were responsible for the hack. The German Foreign Ministry also confirmed the involvement of Chinese state actors in the attack on the precision mapping agency.
