VisitGeorgia Polling Stations Evacuated After Russian Bomb Threats, Says Secretary of State
Nov 5, 2024, 05:40 PM
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced that bomb threats at two polling stations in Fulton County, Georgia, were traced back to Russia. The threats, deemed non-credible, led to the temporary evacuation and closure of the polling sites in Union City, a predominantly African American community near Atlanta, for about 30 minutes. "We identified the source; it was from Russia," Raffensperger said. The FBI has been informed and is aware of several bomb threats made around Georgia. Authorities emphasized that such interference aims to disrupt fair elections during the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.
