VisitGeorgia–Notre Dame Sugar Bowl Delayed After New Orleans Attack Kills At Least 10
Jan 1, 2025, 07:35 PM
The Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff quarterfinal between Georgia and Notre Dame, initially scheduled for Wednesday night at the Superdome, has been postponed until Thursday at 7:45 p.m. following a deadly attack in New Orleans. Early Wednesday, a truck plowed into a New Year's crowd on Bourbon Street, about a mile from the stadium, killing at least 10 people and injuring dozens more. Both teams are sheltering in place at their hotels in the wake of the incident, which authorities are treating as a terror attack. Some reports indicate the death toll may be as high as 15.
