In a dominant performance, No. 1 Georgia defeated No. 14 Clemson 34-3 in their season opener. Georgia's defense stifled Clemson, which has now gone 10 quarters without scoring a touchdown against the Bulldogs. Georgia outgained Clemson 447-188, averaging 6.3 yards per carry while limiting Clemson to 3.6 yards per play. The victory marks Georgia's 40th consecutive regular season win, the second-longest streak since Oklahoma's run from 1953 to 1957. Clemson's defeat is its largest margin under coach Dabo Swinney since a 2013 loss to Florida State and only the third time in his career that the team has lost by 30 points or more. Georgia's win also highlights their seventh victory by 30 or more points against a ranked opponent since 2021.
