VisitGeorge Santos Pleads Guilty to 23 Felony Charges, Faces Prison

Former U.S. Representative George Santos has pleaded guilty to federal charges of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, as well as 23 felony charges. The charges include misusing campaign funds for personal expenses and lying about his financial status. Santos, who was expelled from Congress, reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors in New York. He faces a minimum of two years in prison, with sentencing guidelines suggesting a term of six to eight years. Sentencing is scheduled for February 7. Santos also agreed to pay restitution of $373,749.97 and forfeiture of $205,002.97.
