Gautam Adani, the Indian billionaire and chairman of the Adani Group, allegedly promised a bribe of $200 million to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, during a meeting in 2021. This claim has been made by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Following the meeting, it is reported that a deal was signed in Andhra Pradesh, suggesting that the promise of bribes influenced the agreement. The SEC's findings indicate that the amount promised in Indian Rupees is approximately Rs 1,750 crore.
