Gauhar Chishti and Six Others Acquitted in Ajmer Dargah and Nupur Sharma Cases

Gauhar Chishti, Khadim of Ajmer Sharif Dargah, has been acquitted in connection with a hate speech made at the main gate of Ajmer Dargah on June 17, 2022. The court's decision also acquitted six individuals, including Chishti, in the Nupur Sharma case, also known as the 'Sar Tan Se Juda' case. The incident had initially sparked outrage, leading to charges under sections 302 and 115 of the IPC. Chishti expressed gratitude to the government for the acquittal. The case was registered on May 21, 2022, in Rajasthan.
