Garth Hudson, the last surviving original member of the rock group The Band, has died at the age of 87. Hudson passed away peacefully in his sleep at a nursing home in Woodstock, New York. Known for his virtuosity as a multi-instrumentalist, including the organ, accordion, and saxophone, Hudson was a key contributor to The Band's distinctive sound. The Band, which also included members such as Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, and Richard Manuel, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
