Gardaí Seize €6m in Drugs, Arrest 5; €16m Seized, 11 Arrested in Europol-Led Operation

Gardaí have seized drugs worth over €6 million and arrested five individuals as part of a major international operation dismantling a drug trafficking route. The operation, which involved the infiltration of an encrypted communication platform used by Irish criminals, has led to a broader investigation. The Gardaí anticipate further arrests as the investigation expands. In total, drugs worth €16 million have been seized, and 11 individuals have been arrested. Additionally, €15 million worth of cocaine was seized in the operation. The operation is part of a coordinated effort involving multiple countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United States. Europol held a press conference to announce the results of this major action.
