FWC Recovers $1M in Gold Coins Stolen from 1715 Fleet Shipwrecks on Treasure Coast

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has recovered 37 gold coins, valued at over $1 million, that were stolen from the 1715 Fleet shipwrecks off Florida's Treasure Coast. The recovery follows a months-long investigation into a scheme to sell gold pieces from these historic wrecks. A member of a family who initially uncovered a 'treasure trove' of 101 coins from these wrecks is accused of selling multiple stolen coins between 2023 and 2024.
