VisitFugitive Preacher Apollo Quiboloy Arrested in Davao City on September 8
Sep 8, 2024, 12:31 PM
Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and a fugitive preacher wanted by the FBI, has been apprehended in Davao City, Philippines. His capture ends a months-long manhunt. Quiboloy faces charges of sexual abuse of a minor, child abuse, and qualified trafficking in two separate courts. The arrest took place on Sunday, September 8, as announced by Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos. Senator Risa Hontiveros commented that Quiboloy 'cannot outrun the law.' Quiboloy's legal counsel, Ferdinand Topacio, claims his client surrendered voluntarily, countering earlier reports of an arrest. Davao Police Regional Director Nicolas Torre and Philippine National Police spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo were involved in the operation. The preacher has ties to former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and owns properties worth millions, including a mansion in Las Vegas.
