A fire broke out at around 4:30 PM on Friday afternoon at an eight-story commercial building near Yatap Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, prompting a Level 2 emergency response. The blaze, which started in a first-floor restaurant kitchen of the BYC building, led to multiple reports of people trapped inside. Over 100 firefighters were deployed to combat the flames. Approximately 40 individuals were rescued by emergency responders, while another 50 evacuated the building on their own. The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes. As of the latest reports, authorities are assessing the situation, and no casualties have been confirmed.
