Fresno State head coach Jeff Tedford, 62, has announced his resignation due to health reasons. Tedford, who has a career record of 127-79 at Fresno State and Cal, led the Bulldogs to a 19-8 record over the past two seasons. This marks the second time Tedford has stepped down from his position due to health concerns, having previously done so in 2019. Tedford had also missed the NM Bowl last December and was present at Mountain West media days last week. Tim Skipper, the current assistant head coach and linebackers coach, will serve as the interim head coach. Tedford's departure comes just weeks before Fresno State's season opener against Michigan. The school had picked Fresno State to finish third in the Mountain West in the preseason conference poll.
