French Soldier Stabbed at Gare de l'Est, Attacker Shouted 'Allah Akbar'

A French soldier patrolling Gare de l'Est in Paris was stabbed on Monday evening around 9:50 p.m. by an assailant who shouted 'Allah Akbar'. The soldier, part of the 'Opération Sentinelle', was injured in the shoulder and is in serious but stable condition. The attacker, who has a previous conviction for murder in 2018, was apprehended by authorities. The incident occurred just days before the French capital is set to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, heightening security concerns. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed the attack and the subsequent arrest of the suspect. The station was cordoned off following the incident, according to a police source.
