VisitFranz Wagner's 37 Points, Game-Winner Snap Lakers' Six-Game Streak in 119-118 Magic Win
Nov 22, 2024, 05:55 AM
Franz Wagner scored a season-high 37 points, including a clutch step-back three-pointer over Cam Reddish with 2.5 seconds remaining, to lift the Orlando Magic to a 119-118 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Wagner added a career-high 11 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, becoming the youngest player in Magic history to record at least 35 points and 10 assists in a game. The win snapped the Lakers’ six-game winning streak and handed them their first home loss of the season. Despite strong performances from Anthony Davis, who had 39 points and 9 rebounds, and LeBron James, who contributed 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, the Lakers faltered late by missing four free throws in the final 40 seconds. After Wagner’s go-ahead shot, Davis missed a potential game-winning shot over Jonathan Isaac at the buzzer. Magic coach Jamahl Mosley praised Wagner, saying, 'He’s not afraid of the big moment.'
