Jun 5, 2024, 02:50 AM
Frankie Montas delivered an exceptional performance for the Cincinnati Reds against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Montas pitched seven innings, allowing only one hit, no runs, and striking out nine batters while walking two. He threw a total of 80 pitches and generated 20 whiffs using his five-pitch mix. Montas had a no-hitter through six innings and previously took one 7 2/3 innings for Oakland vs. Seattle on June 23, 2022. This marks the first time a visiting pitcher has thrown at least seven shutout innings with nine or more strikeouts and no more than one hit allowed at Coors Field. Montas' effort contributed to the Reds' 4-1 victory, their third consecutive win. Additionally, Elly De La Cruz hit his 10th home run of the season.
