France to Deliver Upgraded Mirage 2000 Jets to Ukraine in 2025, Modified for Ground Attacks

France will deliver upgraded Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine in early 2025, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced on October 8. The aircraft will be equipped with the latest systems for combat and protection against electronic warfare. They will be modified to engage ground targets, integrating air-to-ground munitions such as SCALP cruise missiles and AASM Hammer smart bombs. Additionally, 24 Ukrainian pilots are currently being trained to operate these fighter jets.
